The project is an exploration of the mythologized all-American figure and the hierarchical tenets of hegemonic masculinity; through an examination of intimate spaces, I construct scenes inspired by my adolescent and adult experiences. The desexualized Asian American man’s existence - often invisible - reminds, and therefore reclaims, the Asian body as a masculine, American symbol.
